- You are facing the possibility of being locked out by another person who lives at the same residence.
- Your key has been loaned out in the past, and may have been duplicated for less-than-honest purposes.
- Your keys may have been or might be misplaced.
- You want to avoid replacing the entire lock system.
- You are concerned about your ability to replace a lock or key.
Are you able to rekey a lock with no keys at all?
Yes, we can rekey a lock even if you don't have the original key.
we use a few professional techniques to bypass the lock. Depending on the brand, we will either pick the lock open, shim the cylinder from the back, or use a decoding tool to read the internal pin depths. Once we get the cylinder turned, we can swap out the old pins and cut you a brand-new set of keys.
Your existing lock hardware stays completely safe and undamaged.
Is it possible to multiple different keys for one lock?
Yes, we can create multiple different keys that open the exact same lock. In the locksmith industry, this process is called Master Keying. To make this work, we insert multiple small "master pins" (also called spacer segments) inside each pin chamber. This creates two or more different "shear lines" inside the single cylinder, allowing completely different keys to turn the exact same cylinder.
Can you re-key a commercial high-security lock?
Yes we can, for high-security commercial locks, rekeying requires specialized factory tools, authorized key blanks, and an understanding of advanced physical bypass defenses. Brands like Medeco, Schlage Primus, Mul-T-Lock, and ASSA Abloy, IC core, dominate this space.
High-security locks are designed specifically to defeat standard locksmith bypass techniques like picking, bumping, and decoding however our technicians are equipped with the right tools to rekey any lock!
Extracting a Broken Key
Yes, it happens. Keys can wear out and break in the lock. Sometimes just a regular amount of pressure to turn the key results in a snap. Some keys can be poorly made and easily bend or break in the lock. This is the perfect time to call a locksmith. We can extract the broken key without damaging your lock and of course, we can cut you a new key, or several.
We don't recommend that you try extracting the key yourself, though it is tempting. Trying to remove a key with a tool not designed for that work (think a set of pliers) will undoubtedly result in damage to the lock. A locksmith will have the tools and expertise necessary to safely remove the broken key from your house lock.
We are only a phone call away and can get to you very quickly to assist and get you back into your house.
